MLS What happened????You changed!!!!
MLS.ca is now called Realtor.ca and the following information will help you to navigate the new website and find out what other changes have been made to upgrade the old mls.ca.
This website was tested before the launch. It spent six months in test, running in parallel with the old mls.ca web site. A series of focus groups with both consumers and REALTORS® was done prior to that.
Since its full launch on Oct.2 we have received in excess of 17,000 e-mails from consumers and members. The majority require some simple instructions on how to use the site, particularly the mapping function, and once received appear to be satisfied. Others deal with a variety of user and functionality issues. Our commitment is that no legitimate query or comment goes unanswered. Please direct consumers complaints directly to us at info@crea.ca; it is the most efficient way of tracking down the specific issues in using the site.
We also closely monitor site traffic to ensure no adverse results due to the changes. Site performance continues to be rock solid.
We are also working to quickly identify and review any critical design/functionality issues identified since the launch on October 2nd. We are assessing any other improvements that can be made in short order to improve visitor experience and usability.
I would also like to point out that the previous mls.ca website was not designed to be compatible with MAC operating systems, or most Firefox or Safari browsers. This is not an issue created by the new website. It is now being addressed, and the new site should be compatible with MACs and the Firefox browser in a few weeks time.
About 85% of all properties uploaded to realtor.ca allow addresses to be shown, which of course enhances the mapping functionality.
The best way to navigate is first to determine the location in the right upper part of the window . Then fill in your details as to what type of property you are looking for which is all on the left side of the map. Then when you search if the number of properties available is less than 500 you should see the map with most of the properties pinned. On the right side of the map will be thumbnails of the property where you should find what you are looking for as well. At the top of that side is a next button to forward on the thumbnails of the properties falling into your category.
I hope this helps you. Once you are in the window of a single property listing all the details are nicely layed out with info on Multimedia, Open Houses, Driving directions etc.
Good luck.
