Green spaces are very well-situated and there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it very easy to get to them from the majority of locations within Mimico. The noise levels in this area are also low, as the streets are usually quite calm - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near the railway line or F G Gardiner Expressway.

Roughly one third of buildings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Mimico, but large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Toronto offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Roughly 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home whereas owners make up the remainder. The homes in this part of the city are quite old, because about 45% of its dwellings were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s.

It is straightforward to get to the nearest supermarket by foot from any location in this part of the city. Furthermore, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a limited number of cafes can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will find that wherever their home is located in this part of Toronto, daycares and primary schools are close by. However, Mimico does not have any high schools. Families are served by public and private primary schools.

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is moderately straightforward to move around in Mimico. Home buyers can rely on public transit to get around in Mimico. The nearest train station, including the Mimico with access to the Lakeshore West, is ordinarily a short walk away from the greater part of residences in the neighbourhood. Homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by. Walking is also fairly practical for house buyers in Mimico; many daily needs can be met without a car. Bicycling is convenient in this part of the city.
